Ready for an encore?
It's a game people are still talking about.
On Jan. 16, Oklahoma State hosted Texas in Stillwater and the teams put on a show that fans of both schools will talk about for quite some time. The 105-103 triple overtime thriller is probably the game of the season nationally and was put into the ESPN "Instant Classic" category moments after the game ended.
And now the two teams meet again in Austin, this time for a Big Monday matchup on ESPN, which is likely hoping for an encore to the prize fight from a month ago. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. from the Frank Erwin Center.
The No. 17 Cowboys (19-5 overall, 5-4 Big 12) have gone through a rough patch since pulling out the win over UT, laying eggs on the road at Colorado and Oklahoma. But they redeemed themselves with the double-overtime win against Texas Tech over the weekend in Stillwater. The game turned Sean Sutton into a prophet of sorts, as after the first game against the Longhorns, he said that his team would likely have to grit and grind games out in conference to pick up wins. And that's just what they did against the Red Raiders.
So now Team Overtime takes its act to the capital of Texas, where the Longhorns (17-7, 7-3) have ridden a roller coaster of sorts since their Stillwater visit, losing three times (at Villanova, Kansas State, at Texas A&M) and winning four times (at Nebraska, Baylor, at Texas Tech, Iowa State).
