Three intersting offers for DE

Defensive end Datone Jones (6-4, 235, 4.8) from Compton, Calif., is off to a fast start this recruiting season. He already has three offers from schools that have good reputations for evaluating talent.

The three early offers are from Oregon, Colorado and Ole Miss. Oregon and Colorado have a good track record uncovering talent from Southern California and Ole Miss head coach Ed Orgeron was able to identify a lot of the talent that became the foundation of USC's two national championship teams.

That these three schools have already tendered offers makes one stand up and notice that Jones is a player to watch.

"Getting offers early at our school, even last season when we had two sign D-I letters, it isn't common," Compton coach Calvin Bryant said. "Datone really has his stuff together. He's doing everything I'm asking him to do to be an early qualifier."
