Gophers land first in-state prospect

Coach Tim Brewster vowed to keep the top prospects in Minnesota at home and the first step of the process is complete as the Gopher staff received a verbal commitment from one of the top players in the Gopher state this afternoon. It also marked the first verbal commitment for the Gopher program in 2008 as the staff gets ready to head into Spring practice.

Minnesota landed Cretin-Derham Hall running back Shady Salamon this afternoon. A move that Salamon credits to a new feeling at the U.

Despite a lot of interest from other Big Ten schools and an offer from Missouri of the Big 12 Salamon was locked in on Minnesota.
