SoCal WR received first offer

Wide receiver/cornerback Kevan Walker (6-0, 180, 4.4) from Arcadia, Calif., was another very impressive prospect who passed the look test last Saturday at the Rivals.com junior day held in Anaheim, California.

The two-way standout recently received his first scholarship offer.

"My first offer comes from Minnesota and I feel very good about it," Walker said. "I wasn't expecting it at all.

"I was texted by (Gopher wide receiver coach) George McDonald and was asked if I wanted to become a Gopher," Walker said. "Coach McDonald asked me if I would give him a call.

Recruiting seems to be heating for Walker over the past couple of weeks.

"D.J. McCarthy the new wide receiver coach at LSU texted me the other day and told me to send him my highlight video," Walker said. "Dino Babers of UCLA also texted me and told me all the positives of UCLA."

Other schools that have shown recent recruiting interest in Walker have been Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Nebraska.
