NEPSAC Championships preview

It's that time of the year when Prep Schools all over the country will be jockeying for championships and Rivals.com will be there to cover the action.

The place to keep an eye on will be Endicott College as they host the North East Prep School Championships starting today and ending on Sunday. Some of the best prep players in the country will be on hand so if you get a chance you might want to check things out.

Here's a preview of the field of eight:

2:00 PM #1 Bridgton Academy (26-4) vs. #8 Phillips Exeter Academy (13-8)

The Wolverines come in with the best overall record for the NEPSAC Tournament.

After playing strong all season they hit a little bit of a stumbling block losing two straight, but the Wolverines are very good. St. John's signees Justin Burrell and Paris Horne give Head Coach Whit Lesure a good inside outside combination.

Burrell is solid inside and can score numerous ways when he gets the ball close to the basket.

Horne gives the Wolverines a slasher who can get into the lane easy for a basket or dish off to teammates.

Forward Aaron Ellis adds to the potent frontcourt and complements, Burrell's presence on the inside.

The Big Red were scheduled to host Bridgton earlier this season, but the game never happened as snow caused the cancellation. Now they get their chance to show the Wolverines what kind of team they are. While they don't bring in a star-studded name to their roster, the Big Red play a fundamental offense and defense to the floor.
