Chavis is the fourth commit on Saturday
Saturday's Junior Day at Texas A&M was the last one that the Aggie staff had scheduled for the spring. With the previous junior days netting 14 early commitments, the coaches clearly made a concerted effort to lock up the state of Texas' top talent in the 2008 class.
They made huge strides on Saturday with Keon Furtch, Jordan Fields and Kendall Wright all making verbal commitments early in the day. However, when the barrage of commitments seemed to be over, one more player decided to he wanted to play for Texas A&M.
Beaumont West Brook defensive end Blake Chavis became the fourth commit Saturday for the Aggies. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Chavis will join his brother, Billy, who signed with A&M in the class of 2007.
Chavis chose the Aggies over an offer from Iowa. He has also been receiving heavy interest from LSU, Arizona, Clemson and Missouri.
