Plenty of attention for Georgia back

While he doesn't have a formal written scholarship offer yet, Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes running back Darriet Perry is getting plenty of early attention from a number of Division I-A programs.

"Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Notre Dame, N.C. State, South Florida, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee all have been in contact," Perry said. "They have been sending letters and text messages and want me to come to there Junior Days and things like that."

The 5-foot-10, 196-pounder added that there are three programs that currently stand out.

"Auburn, Florida and Clemson stand out the most right now," he said. "They all got a real good academic program. They have some pretty good coaches."

Perry made an unofficial visit to Auburn this past weekend.
