OL Ruhland has strong Spartan ties

Offensive line recruiting will be a crucial aspect of the class of 2008 for Coach Mark Dantonio and the Spartan staff. The state of Michigan has several offensive line prospects that could end up be high-level recruits before all is said and done. SpartanMag.com caught up with a prospect last night that several colleges including Michigan State are in contact with, Ethan Ruhland of Lake Orion High School.

Under the direction of Head Coach Chris Bell Lake Orion High School has become not only one of the top performing football programs in Michigan, but one of the top talent producing schools as well. Every year the Dragons have several players that college coaches are recruiting and 2008 should be no different. Ruhland is a prospect that has college coaches intrigued due to his size and athletic ability.

Ruhland informed us that he measured in most recently at 6-foot-6 and 263-pounds. In addition, Ruhland has been working out with his teammates 4 days a week prior to school to get faster and stronger. Ruhland indicated that he has improved his squat to 430-pounds and his bench press to 285-pounds. The combination of his size and his potential has college coaches taking notice.
