Maryland tackle planning Michigan trip
Watching his older brother experience college life while he was a member of the Northwestern Wildcats' football team gave Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School offensive tackle Lane Clelland a good idea of what college football life is like. Now a high Division 1 football recruit himself, the 6-5, 265-pound Clelland goes into the process with a unique perspective.
Clelland's older brother, Lance, started a total of 29 games in his college career, including 23 straight, at Northwestern between the years of 1997 and 2001. Maryland has been a tough state for Michigan to recruit out of over the years, but with the Clelland family's ties to the Big Ten and familiarity with the Midwest, they have an added advantage with the Maryland product.
