Oklahoma commit visits UGA for Junior Day
Oklahoma picked up an early commitment from Mt. Airy (Ga.) - Habersham Central linebacker Daniel Franklin. Franklin is still being recruited by other schools and he decided to give Georgia a look on Saturday. He took part in the Bulldog's Junior Day and he talks about the visit, his interest in UGA, and more here.
"I took part in Georgia's Junior Day on Saturday and the whole thing was nice," said Franklin. "I like Georgia, it is a very nice place, and it was nice to watch them practice."
Franklin committed to Oklahoma back in early December, but he admits he likes going to other colleges.
"I love to watch practice, I love college football, and I am just enjoying being able to go out and see different schools," he said. "Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss have all invited me to Junior Day and Georgia is the first one I have been to. I am looking at going to a few more, but I want to talk with Coach Venables about it first."
He had a chance to talk with Georgia's linebacker's coach on Saturday while watching the scrimmage.
"I talked with Coach [John] Jancek a little bit while I was there, but I told him I was Oklahoma all the way."
Franklin watched the Georgia linebackers and he thinks he fits in with Oklahoma better than he would at Georgia.
"I really like how Oklahoma's linebackers are always going down hill," Franklin said. "Coach Venables is always talking about that and I really like that. Georgia seems to play their defensive ends more aggressive and their linebackers move more laterally. I am not sure how I would fit in at Georgia. Their linebackers are good, but I like to go down hill more."
