Commit #1 for 2009
In May of 2005 Clemson went into Union and picked up a verbal commitment from star power forward Trevor Booker, now a standout for the Tigers who are currently in the midst of their best season to date under head coach Oliver Purnell.
Purnell & Co. have now gone back into Union, this time to acquire the services of Booker's younger brother Devin, a rising junior, and one of the South's top prospects for the class of 2009.
The 6-foot-7, 220-pound Booker was verbally offered last week, as Tigerillustrated.com told its subscribers on the Esso Club message board.
Booker nearly committed to the Tigers on Wednesday following the Orange & White's win over Syracuse, but held off to discuss his commitment with family members before ultimately pledging to the Tigers today.
Booker's pledge, as first reported by Tigerillustrated.com, is Clemson's first for the class of 2009.
