Lucas, Patterson waiting for new UK coach

Jai Lucas and Patrick Patterson made their official visits to Kentucky more than five months ago, but Kentucky got one final opportunity to make a good impression on the Wildcats' top two recruiting targets on Wednesday night in Louisville.

The dynamic duo played in the McDonald's All-American Game at Freedom Hall, albeit on separate teams. Lucas and his West squad came away with bragging rights, claiming a 114-112 victory over Patterson and the East in a nail-biter that came down to the final second.

The friendship has led many recruiting observers to wonder if the recruiting trail will lead both Lucas and Patterson to the same school. As of now, Kentucky is the only school on both players' list.

Lucas is also considering offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Maryland. Patterson is also considering Duke, Virginia, West Virginia and Wake Forest.
