Douglas trying to become a player

One of Mississippi State's glaring needs for 2007 was linebacker depth with the loss of Quinton Culberson. The Bulldogs addressed that with Hinds C.C. linebacker Dominic Douglas. Douglas, who had his grades in order, was able to sign with State in December and enroll in January.

Before the Bulldogs started recruiting Douglas, he had already checked the Bulldogs depth chart to see how he would fit in. Coach Croom made sure during his recruitment that he understood the expectations of being a juco player.

"When they were recruiting me, they were telling that they wanted me to come in and compete for a position because I am juco player and I only have two years to play. I come out here with a chip on my shoulder every day, trying to work hard," he commented.
