Adams flashes speed at Combine

Matthews (N.C.) Butler safety Spencer Adams took advantage of the Shrine Bowl Combine at his high school this past weekend to produce the event's top 40-yard dashes, posting a trio of sub-4.3 times.

"It feels good, man, because last year my brother, Drew Adams, he went for like a 4.27. I'm trying to go after what he goes after. Running 4.2s is in the family, so we're trying to keep it in the family, you know," said Adams.

Running on the track at Butler High, Adams first ran a 4.27, the event's best time to that point. In his second run, Adams posted a staggering 4.21, which prompted the Shrine Bowl Combine officials to time him a third time with six stopwatches instead of the usual two.

In his third run, Adams recorded the same 4.27 that he ran the first time.
