Mississippi QB could be a sleeper

Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba quarterback Bret Jefcoat has the chance to emerge as one of the top sleepers at his position in the Southeast in the Class of 2008. Jefcoat totaled more than 1,700 yards of total offense and scored 20 touchdowns last season (9 passing, 12 rushing) and is getting attention from a number of programs, including several in the Southeastern Conference.

"My top schools are Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Memphis and Southern Mississippi," he said. "State is recruiting me the hardest, but my favorite school is Ole Miss. I've always wanted to go there. I haven't always liked State, but I am starting to. They are recruiting me pretty hard."

Jefcoat's father played at Ole Miss.
