UGA is looking into New Jersey again
Georgia is not scared to go into New Jersey to try their luck with top recruits. The Dawgs have signed Kade Weston and Knowshon Moreno out of Jersey in recent years and now they have targeted linebacker Marcus Witherspoon. His video showed on Rivals.com and his phone has been busy since then. One school he has talked to is Georgia and he gives us the scoop inside.
"All these schools say that they saw my film on Rivals.com and that led to a lot of schools contacting me," Witherspoon said. "Georgia, Florida, Michigan, and others told me they really liked my film when they saw it."
The Wolverines had already offered Witherspoon before his film hit Rivals.com, but the Gators and Bulldogs have recently gave him some good news.
"Both (UGA and UF) schools told me they are offering me, but they want me to take the ACT before they send me the written offer. A lot of schools are telling me that. I have a ton of verbal offers and most of those schools are telling me to get a test score and they will send the written offer. I am taking it on May 2, so I will get some more written offers soon."
One school that has constantly been near the top of Witherspoon's list in the SEC's Georgia Bulldogs. He has connections to the Peach State, he has been to Athens before, and the Dawgs are still up there for Witherspoon.
"Georgia is still very high on my list," said Witherspoon. "It is them, Michigan, and Florida in my top three."
"I really like Georgia and I like that area. My sister goes to school in Atlanta, so I know a lot about the location. I will be visiting there again soon. I hope to get there soon, but I know I will be down there in May."
Witherspoon has stayed in contact with Georgia's linebackers coach John Jancek recently.
