Tackling machine has WVU on his mind

West Virginia is recruiting a tackling machine from the South Side of Virginia.

Middle linebacker Allen Stephens is one of two standouts on the South Boston Halifax County team coached by Stan Hodgin.

The veteran mentor has worked on both sides of the nearby North Carolina boundary. He has sent athletes to ACC schools, and now the Mountaineers would like to break into his stash which includes Stephens (6-foot-1, 240) and athletic quarterback Rodale Pippen.

Both Stephens and Pippen hope to camp with WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez in Morgantown in June.

Stephens also has offers from Virginia Tech and Maryland.
