Lepak looking local?
Local recruits are important for schools to sign because fans do not want to see the top talent from its local area moving on and playing somewhere else. They also do not want to see local kids come back and beat the Orange. Syracuse football will be trying to avoid missing out on local recruits this year and is making an effort to land a big man in their backyard, Nick Lepak
Lepak (6-foot-5, 340-pounder), out of Auburn, N.Y., last year opened up holes for Class AA player of the year Quendell Ellison but was recognized more on defense. As a defensive tackle he was the only underclassmen named first team All-State.
December 16 is when Lepak received his first offer from Syracuse, at the time it was just a verbal offer. Now three months after the verbal offer was given he now is in possession of an official offer from the Orange.
Unofficial visits have not been made yet but he does have a few schools in mind that he would like to visit. Those schools are Penn State, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Clemson. He also plans on making a couple more trips to check out the Orange.
