Another Texas sophomore high on UK

Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie has yet to complete his first week on the job, and he's already sewn up a commitment from one of the nation's top sophomores, McKinney (Texas) point guard G.J. Vilarino. Can he convince another Texas super sophomore to follow?

Duncanville (Texas) small forward Shawn Williams, No. 1 in the Texas Class of 2009, became very familiar with Gillispie during his three years at Texas A&M. Kentucky was not among his leaders before, but Gillispie's move vaulted the Cats into a favorable position.

At 6-foot-6, Williams is an excellent outside shooter with a very competitive nature. Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Kansas, and Baylor have also offered scholarships, and Memphis, Illinois, and Louisville are showing interest.
