Wesley wants some recognition

Signing with Mississippi State as an undersized defensive end, redshirt sophomore Quinton Wesley knew that a redshirt could be a possibility during his first year on campus. After his redshirt year, Wesley blew up to the 300-pound range and was forced to make a transition inside, where he would get to learn from former Bulldogs, Deljuan Robinson, Antonio Johnson, and Andrew Powell for a year. With those three gone, Wesley will try to become a mainstay along the defensive line until his time is done.

The known question mark for the Bulldogs going into the spring was evident the day the Egg Bowl ended. Who would make up the defensive line? To make matters even worse for the Bulldogs, Coach Brick Haley bolted for a professional job with the NFC Champion Chicago Bears. With only a few days before spring practice was slated to start, Coach Croom named Coach David Turner formerly of Mike Shula's Alabama staff, defensive line coach.
