Palmer shows off speed at combine
This past Saturday at the Shrine Bowl combine held at Ragsdale High in Jamestown, N.C., was a chance to see the athletic talents of Tobias Palmer since his verbal commitment to NC State in March. The star running back from Northwood High in Pittsboro, N.C., did not disappoint.
He was one of just two players to run both of his 40-yard dashes in under 4.5 seconds on the noticeably slow track at Ragsdale. Both of Palmer's sprints went in 4.42 seconds. He also had a 4.48-second shuttle time and 28.7-inch vertical leap. But Palmer admits he needs to get stronger, checking in at 5-foot-10, 156 pounds and doing just four lifts at 185 pounds, although he was at less than 100% to do the bench press.
