Five Good Questions: Ed Zaunbrecher

GoldandBlack.com caught up with Purdue's co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for "Five Good Questions" about how the offense and signal callers looked this spring.

Today, we talk to second-year Boilermaker assistant Ed Zaunbrecher.

GoldandBlack.com: What did you see from the offense this spring and how do you feel about the group heading into the summer months? And what do you have to offensively to improve from a year ago?
Zaunbrecher:
"I think we made some improvements. We're not where I want to be yet, but we're headed in the right direction.
"We need to protect the ball better and be consistent more in certain situations. We've got to get there (to the season) healthy and as strong as we can be because it's going to be a long, hard season and we have to be ready for it."

GoldandBlack.com: Talk about the development of the quarterbacks.
Zaunbrecher:
"Curtis Painter has gotten better with a lot of little things that may not show up to the average fan like his balance.
"Joey Elliott made some better decisions and did some good today (in the Black & Gold Game April 21 in Ross-Ade Stadium)."
