Smith (5-foot-11 1/2, 183 pounds, 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash) has scholarship offers from Air Force, Rice, Army, Colorado State and Oklahoma State. Smith is also getting plenty of attention from Arkansas' James Shibest.

"I want to go where they have good athletics and academics," Smith said. "I want to go to a school where they have good school spirit and support the program."

Smith knows about Arkansas besides just his conversations with Shibest. Smith's uncle, former running back Jerry Eckwood, is one of the best running backs to ever come out of this state and play for the Razorbacks. Eckwood was a standout at Brinkley and then played in the NFL when he left Arkansas.
