ISU evaluating Coffeyville d-end

Iowa State got a solid JUCO prospect out of Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College last year and may be going after another one in 2008. Cyclone assistant coach Shawn Raney has visited Coffeyville to learn more about defensive end Larry Ford.

Ford is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end that sat out last season as a redshirt at Coffeyville for head coach Jeff Leiker. He'll play for the Red Ravens in 2007 and then have three seasons of eligibility remaining when he comes out as an '08 prospect. Leiker believes Ford will be an early graduate from Coffeyville, adding to his potential value.
