Daniels getting prepared for action

One of the more underrated prospects in the 2007 class is Mike Daniels. The New Jersey native flew under the recruiting radar last winter, but looks like a fine catch for the Hawkeyes at what has become a need position. Daniels says that he is getting ready for action this fall on the defensive line.

Q: What have you been doing, sports wise, since signing day?

DANIELS: I finished up wrestling and now I have been doing track and field.

Q: How did you finish up in wrestling?

DANIELS: My overall record was 32-3. I made it to state, but lost in the first round.

Q: What are you doing in track and field?

DANIELS: I have been doing shot and discus. I also threw the javelin for a little bit. I also did the triple jump and sprinted for a while. I won the shot and discus at the county meet and was MVP of the field events.

Q: What have you heard from the Iowa coaches since signing day?
