Boyertown (Pa.) offensive lineman Tyler Sands will spend all of June traveling around the country to see his favorite schools. But first, a short trip across the Delaware River to New Jersey was in order to attend the Nike Camp at Rutgers University.
While the 6-foot-6, 286-pound Sands was the top all-around lineman at the camp, he was beaten out for the positional MVP award.
“I went to the Elite College Combine a couple weeks ago and I went to the Rutgers Nike Camp on Sunday,” said Sands. “I think I did alright (at Rutgers), I really enjoy doing the SPARQ drills and stuff because that’s the kind of stuff that I do every day and the stuff I do when I work it. So it was fun to do that and fun to show off a little bit. I think I could have done better in the one-on-ones, I didn’t get as many reps as I should have gotten, but I think I showed what I could do and I did pretty well.”
