Mattes opens up recruitment

At the Adidas Camp in Raleigh this past weekend were several of the state's top prospects, including defensive end Quinton Coples from Kinston High, quarterback Jacob Charest from Butler High in Matthews and offensive tackle Andrew Wallace from Olympic High in Charlotte. But none arguably stood out more than tackle R.J. Mattes from Robinson High in Concord.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound prospect has attended many combines and camps already this spring, but this one had added meaning as coaches from schools such as NC State, North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Notre Dame and Duke were in attendance.
