Hamilton ready for camp tour

A three-year starter at Centreville High School in Clifton, Va., Darryl Hamilton picked up an early offer from the in-state Virginia Cavaliers and interest from several other college football programs including Notre Dame, Syracuse, North Carolina and North Carolina State. He's hoping that a solid performance at several summer camps will lead to even more offers.

"N.C. State and Syracuse said once I go down for a one-day camp that they'll offer," Hamilton said. "I'm going to go there and to Notre Dame for a one-day camp as well as North Carolina."

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound cornerback doesn't know much about what Notre Dame has to offer, but he is familiar with his recruiting coach, Corwin Brown. Now the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, Brown spent time as an assistant coach at Virginia where he recruited Hamilton's brother, Marcus. Marcus Hamilton recently completed his career at Virginia and was selected by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of the NFL draft.
