Illini get in the mix

The insistence of Illinois' coaching staff on closing the borders in-state for recruiting and strong ties to talent rich areas such as Ohio, Florida, and the Washington D.C./Maryland area adds up to the Illini rarely recruiting west of the Mississippi River. One exception to the rule this year comes from Chandler (AZ.) in the form of 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback Marc Anthony

Anthony, whose school routinely fields one of the best teams in the state, recorded 58 tackles and five interceptions last season.

He has offers Utah, Washington State, Washington, Boise State, Wyoming, Arizona State, Oregon State, Colorado State, San Diego State and Illinois.
