Md. defender picks up Illini offer

Illini offensive coordinator Mike Locksley ability to bring in talented players from across the country at each stop of his coaching career has been well documented. Locksely usually works his magic in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area.

Those efforts have certainly paid off for the Illini, and so far this year things don't appear to be any different. 6-foot-1, 175-pound Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara defensive back Cameron Chism adds to the growing number of prospects from his region interested in continuing their football careers at Illinois.

He has offers from Illinois, Temple, Boston College, UConn, Pitt, Maryland and Syracuse.
