NCSU commit Palmer visits Chapel Hill

Pittsboro (N.C.) Northwood tailback Tobias Palmer committed to North Carolina State earlier this year, but this past weekend he made the short trip over to Chapel Hill to visit UNC, where he participated in the program's one-day camp.

"It went pretty good. I enjoyed the campus, and they have a good coaching staff," Palmer said. "They didn't really say much to me; they were just really looking at my footwork and stuff like that. And they told me they'd keep in touch with Coach (Bill) Hall at Northwood."

The UNC coaching staff likes Palmer's impressive speed, and head coach Butch Davis visited his school during the May open recruiting period. The 5-10, 160-pounder ran consecutive 4.42 40-yard dashes at the Shrine Bowl Combine at Jamestown (N.C.) Ragsdale earlier this year.
