Vols in the Mix With Four-Star Linebacker

Getting prospects on campus early in the game has become increasingly important in recent years. Tennessee did an excellent job in that regard last summer, and the Vols are off to a good start again this June after having South Carolina linebacker Jonathan Willard make an unofficial visit to Knoxville earlier this week.

Willard (6-foot-2, 203 pounds, 4.54 40-yard dash), from Loris High School (just outside Myrtle Beach, S.C.) is one of the top prospects in the South Carolina in what is a solid year that state. Tennessee is making what appears to be a concerted push to recruit South Carolina in the '08 class, and after welcoming Willard to campus, it appears that the Vols have at least gotten their foot in the door with one of that state's best.
