Another Poly WR emerging
Long Beach (Calif.) Poly has a long tradition for turning out outstanding wide receivers prospects dating back to Gene Washington who took his talents as a quarterback to Stanford in the 1960's before playing for the San Francisco 49ers and to the more recent times of Trayvon Patterson (USC) and Terrence Austin (UCLA).
Now it is up to Randall Cox (5-8, 175, 4.4) to carry the Jackrabbit mantle.
Cox led Poly with 29 receptions and was second in receiving yards with 386 yards. He also had three receiving touchdowns as a junior. Not bad when you consider that 2006 was his first year playing wide receiver.
Cox mirrors the before mentioned Patterson and Austin as smaller, quicker wide receiver who can make plays. He has the same kind of game. Quick footed and hard to tackle.
