Washington QB looks to hold up tradition
One of the best kept secrets about the Evergreen State of Washington its ability to develop quarterbacks. A little known fact is John Elway grew up in Washington before playing his high school football in Southern California. There have been many quarterbacks from the state to go on to college football and beyond.
Hoping to continue the fine Washington tradition of outstanding quarterback play on the D-I level is Luther Leonard (6-2, 190, 4.6) from Seattle (Wash.) Evergreen.
Leonard earned all-league honors as a junior after throwing for 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns. He led his team to a 8-2 record
Though he doesn't do it often, Leonard has good feet and is capable of running.
The scouting report on Leonard is he has a high ceiling and could get even better. He's smart and a good decision maker. He has a strong arm and can make all the throws.
