Creek expanding game and school list
June 13, 2007 - After averaging around 28.5 points, five rebounds and three assists for Oxon Hill High School (MD) last season, sophomore Maurice Creek became known as one of the best shooters in the Washington, D.C. area, as he consistently showed an ability to shoot from all over the court, despite being a focal point of defenses. So successful was the 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard/swingman, that many people assumed him capable of only shooting, while neglecting the other parts of the game.
Creek's work has not gone unnoticed by colleges. "ACC and Big East Schools - Duke called (a coach working with him) the other day - North Carolina, Marquette, Maryland, Texas, Georgetown", along with North Carolina State and Villanova all have recruited him to varying degrees, according to Creek. From a local perspective, Maurice shared "Maryland has offered", and though the Hoyas haven't, "I'm still with (considering) Georgetown", as well as many others.
