Thomas: 'I'm ready to fulfill potential in 2007'
If Carlos Thomas is correct, he could be South Carolina's most improved player in 2007.
After spending most of his freshman season at wide receiver, Thomas acknowledges he often struggled last year in his first full season as a Southeastern Conference cornerback. But he believes his trials and tribulations will make him a much better player in 2007.
"I had a tough first season at corner," Thomas admitted. "I was trying to learn and get everything down. I got plenty of experience. I think I'm pretty much ready now. I didn't meet my expectations. I came up a little short."
Beside himself, Thomas also knows he failed to meet the expectations of many USC fans, who had high hopes for the Atlanta native when his sophomore season started.
Thomas understands some USC fans were critical of his performance last season, particularly in the early and middle portion of the schedule. But he vows to do better in the upcoming season.
