Steeples prepares for MU visit
The beginning of summer has been a busy one for DeSmet cornerback Robert Steeples. After finishing his junior season, Steeples moved right into visits and camps early, but after the early camps, Steeples may tone down what he does the rest of the summer.
Earlier this week, Steeples saw his offer sheet increase by one with the Northwestern Wildcats becoming the latest team to offer.
The Big 10 offer for Steeples comes a day after his close friend, Wes Kemp made his commitment to Wisconsin. Steeples said he was happy for his friend, and even though the Badgers had been recruiting him, the decision would not have any influence on his own.
With attention growing, Steeples will be in Columbia next to visit Missouri. He added that he hoped to get a stronger feel for the Tigers while in town.
Steeples went on to say that he will have plenty to compare with his visit to Missouri. Early visits to Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ole Miss, according to Steeples, have provided a wide array of similarities and differences for him to consider.
Along with visits, Steeples has been busy talking with two fellow in-state recruits. He said that one has been unabashedly been talking Missouri with him. He said the other defender and him have talked about starting something big together.
Steeples said that the schools that have offered him are on a very even playing field right now. He hoped that he could have a decision by sometime in September, but that he just wasn't sure.
When asked about his visit tomorrow resulting in a decision, Steeples was hesitant, but did finally admit it was not totally out of the question.
