First two offers are in for Palmetto State WR

Hanahan (S.C.) receiver Brandon Ford is a sleeper no longer. He stood out at a couple of 7-on-7 tournaments recently and his play there have lead to his first two scholarship offers. He was somewhat of an unknown prospect going into the tournaments, but he picked up his first offer last Thursday and the second on Saturday.

"Georgia offered me a scholarship last Thursday after their tournament was over," said Ford. "The head coach (Mark Richt) pulled me to the side after it was done and told me that Georgia wanted to offer me."

The Bulldogs had been showing interest in Ford, but he was a little caught off guard.

"I had received some letters and stuff, but I did not have any offers yet, so it really surprised me. I guess they just saw me play that day and they really liked me."

He did have an impressive day while leading Hanahan to the championship game.

"I made a lot of plays out there," he admitted. "I had at least 20-touchdowns and it was probably in the high 20's somewhere. I was just going up for the ball and bringing it down. I had a real good day."

Georgia offered first after watching this 6-foot-4, 185-pound receiver compete and offer number two was not too far behind.

"I was at Clemson's 7-on-7 tournament on Saturday and they offered me then. I guess they liked what I did when playing there too."

That Tiger offer put them on top of his list.
