Cal a top option for Jones

Nothing has been easy for Tallahassee (Fla.) native Anthony Jones. After playing his senior year at Arlington (Tex.) Seguin high school and signing with Oklahoma State, Jones failed to qualify academically. Without any family support, Jones was fortunate to hook up at Booneville (Miss.) Northeast Mississippi Community College (NMCC), and now his future looks bright.

Jones made his name at Rickards high school, capping off his junior year with 63 receptions, 1,114 yards, and 12 touchdowns. The younger cousin of former prep All-American Fred Rouse, who is now at UTEP, ran into a number of issues though as a teenager - something that's not uncommon when your mother and father have been in prison for nearly your entire life.

"It's been tough," Jones said.
