Cats in line for visit from California juco OL
It's the same old story. Player performs well enough in high school to garner offers from Division I colleges. Player suffers injury while still in high school. Offers seem to disappear. Player ends up at prep school or junior college.
A lot of times this story has a happy ending for everyone, as the player is able to get more or even better offers after proving his ability after the injury. And during the Rich Brooks regime, Kentucky has been very good at finding these young athletes who want a second chance.
Enter a mountain of a young man with that same story, from which Kentucky may benefit. Phillip Garcia, a 6-foot-8, 320-pound offensive lineman from Cerritos Junior College in California, was getting attention in high school before he hurt his knee and missed some action during his senior year.
