NoCal DL racking up MVP awards

Three-star defensive lineman Greg Grimes (6-1, 285, 4.91) from Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum has had an outstanding off-season as he gears up for his senior season. He has been very busy improving skills at camps this spring and summer. He has impressed onlookers at every stop.

Grimes burst onto the scene with a superb NIKE Camp performance at Palo Alto in May. He walked away the defensive line MVP Award.

Proving that his performance at NIKE wasn't a fluke, Grimes followed up his NIKE Camp performance with another stellar stint at Cal's Camp and once again he walked away the defensive line MVP at the Cal Camp.

That was more of a repeat performance for Grimes as he earned Cal's defensive line MVP in 2006 as well.

Shortly after his outstanding NIKE Camp performance, San Diego State jumped ahead of the recruiting curve with an official offer to Grimes.

"My first offer from San Diego State made me feel good," Grimes said. "A lot of times prototype players earn scholarships first no matter what their skill level is, but San Diego State offered me because of my talent level."
