Gulfport OL rated No. 24
The RebelSports.Net Top 25 Mississippi athletes countdown continues with a big man coming in at No. 24.
Gulfport's Michael Lacy is one of the biggest sleepers of this year's class in the Magnolia State. At 6-foot-6, and 315-pounds, the talented offensive lineman has already picked up three official offers.
"Right now I have offers from Ole Miss, Auburn, and Marshall," Lacy said Monday. "It's an honor to be in the state's top 25. My top two teams are Ole Miss and Auburn, I will make my decision sometime after my senior season."
There is one school that has always held a special place in Lacy's heart.
"I have always grown up being an Ole Miss fan," Lacy said in an earlier interview. "To get an offer from them was pretty sweet."
Lacy got a chance to check out the Ole Miss campus on the Rebels annual Junior Day held in February.
"I love it up there," Lacy said. "Everything is so big and nice. I really like the coaching staff."
Lacy hopes that he can help lead his Gulfport team to a better record than last year's 4-7 mark.
"We have a lot of talent coming back," Lacy said. "I think we will be a lot better this season."
Lacy has taken the ACT only once and made a 16 on his first try. He currently has a 2.6 G.P.A.
