Itawamba QB comes in at No.22

The RebelSports.Net Countdown of the Top 25 athletes in Mississippi continues with No. 22 being a strong-armed quarterback.

Itawamaba Agriculture High School's Brett Jefcoat is the No 22. Selection, the talented signal caller had over 1,700 yards in combine offense under a new offensive system.

Jefcoat totaled more than 1,700 yards of total offense and scored 20 touchdowns last season (9 passing, 12 rushing) and is getting attention from a number of programs, including several in the Southeastern Conference. Currently Jefcoat holds an offer from Louisiana Tech.

"My top schools are Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Memphis and Southern Mississippi," he said. "State is recruiting me the hardest, but my favorite school is Ole Miss. I've always wanted to go there. I haven't always liked State, but I am starting to. They are recruiting me pretty hard."

Jefcoat's father played at Ole Miss.

"There school is great, I grew up a Rebel," he said. "I love everything about them. I always wanted to play there and love the coaches."

Jefcoat's team participated in the Ole Miss seven on seven tournament last month.
