Cyclones at head of Mack's pack
Cedric Mack spent the 2006 football season helping to clear the way for running back J.J. Bass at El Camino College. If things continue the way they are going for Mack right now when it comes to recruiting, he might be doing the same thing at Iowa State in the fall of 2008.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound Mack is a tackle for El Camino - a.k.a. Elco - located in Torrance, Calif. Bass signed with ISU as a 2007 prospect after leading Elco's ground game last year and the Cyclones are making a strong push to get Mack to follow his former JUCO teammate to Ames, Iowa.
"If I had to say one, they'd be at the head of the pack," said Mack about Iowa State. "We've been talking a lot with my recruiting coach, Coach (Jay) Rodgers. They are standing out pretty much, I'm not really talking to any other schools a lot right now." That's great news from an Iowa State perspective as Mack has recently picked up offers from Colorado and Washington State and previously held offers from schools such as Kentucky, Ole Miss, USF, Oregon State and Arizona.
