JUCO D-end wants to visit Purdue
With both of their starting defensive ends playing as seniors this fall, that position is one of crucial need in the class of 2008 for Purdue. The Boilermakers are looking for long term depth at the position, but that may not necessarily rule out Coffeyville (Ka.) Community College defender Larry Ford who has a unique situation.
The 6-3, 245-pound Ford came to Coffeyville via Georgetown High School in South Carolina out of the class of 2006. A skinny 200 pounds as a senior in high school, however, Ford did not play as a freshman last fall, instead opting to focus on his schoolwork and add the necessary pounds to play at the Division I level. Those objectives were accomplished because a year later Ford has added 40 pounds and earned a 3.0 GPA on the year.
