25 Tigers to watch: #11 Chase Coffman
The Missouri Tigers open camp on August 4th, which is now just 11 days away. Over these 25 days, PowerMizzou.com is counting down the 25 players on the roster who will be most influential in determining just how good the Tigers are this season. To be clear, this is not a list of the 25 best players on the roster. It is not a list of the players that will have the biggest seasons or put up the best numbers. In reverse order, we are counting down the 25 players who we think could have the most influence on the outcome of the 12 games on Missouri's 2007 schedule.
12. Chase Coffman
Why he's on the list: Like Rucker, he is only this low because so much is expected that it will be hard for Coffman to actually exceed expectations. We said he and Rucker are almost inseparable, which is why Coffman is slightly higher on the list. Coffman is clearly the number one target when Chase Daniel has to have a completion. Coffman can be covered and Daniel has the confidence to throw a jump ball and let the big tight end go get it. There may be a receiver with better hands somewhere in America, but frankly, we haven't seen him yet. To be honest, every single thing the Tigers do on offense comes off of what Coffman and Rucker open up. For that reason, they could be the top two players on this list.
