Irish could start Notre Dame tradition

When the Irish landed Anthony McDonald earlier this spring, the linebacker gave Charlie Weis his first commitment from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

When quarterback Dayne Crist followed with a pledge of his own, it made two prospects South Bend bound from the powerhouse prep program. Now it appears the Irish are looking at a third target from the southern California school, but not for this year.

With its 2008 class all but wrapped up, Notre Dame is already scouting junior linebacker Jordan Barrett.
