Longhorns in the hunt for Armwood

The Texas Longhorn basketball program is in the hunt for many of the top prospects in the 2009 class. That includes Montrose Christian combo forward Isaiah Armwood, who had a tremendous summer on the AAU and camp circuit. The 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward is already being heavily recruited by many of the top programs in college basketball, including Texas.

Armwood entered the spring and summer circuits inside the top 50 of most 2009 rankings, but has moved all the way up to No. 10 in the Rivals150 with a terrific summer. The move into elite company in the 2009 class and the heavy recruitment that comes with the stellar play has Isaiah's father, Jerald Armwood, in shock.

Armwood made his mighty rise in the rankings playing for the Baltimore Stars in the spring and summer- a rise that has programs such as Louisville, Maryland, Syracuse, Texas, Villanova, Georgetown, North Carolina and Ohio State recruiting the combo forward heavily.
