Practice report: No redshirt needed

The Tigers went through a relatively light workout, focused largely on special teams, on Wednesday in preparation for the final scrimmage of the fall Thursday afternoon. PowerMizzou.com has all the news you need from practice:

Pinkel and Derrick Washington both said that no decision has been made on whether the freshman tailback will play this season. That decision should come after Thursday's scrimmage. But if you're asking for my opinion (and who isn't?) I think there is a much better than 50-50 shot that Washington sees the field. He was taking reps with the first and second-team offenses again today.

*It looks to me like Jeremy Maclin is getting a long, long look as the starting kickoff and punt returner. Pinkel has said earlier in camp that Tony Temple will return kickoffs, and that may still be the case, but Maclin is getting a lot of reps at both spots.

*Hardy Ricks was back on the field for some limited drills today. He was working with the third-team defense. He may not be ready to start yet, but it's good to have him back on the field.
