Future Impact: Adams

In recent years, Trojan fans have paid little attention to recruiting in July and August.

Well times have sure changed with the Trojans recruiting class of 2008. With the announcement of Joe Adams from Little Rock (Ark.) USC has secured commitment No. 14 before the 2007 season has kicked off.

When USC recruits a player outside of the state of California they're looking for a future first round pick. Joe Adams certainly has the talent and ability to fit that mold. Adams, who's ranked as a four star wide receiver by Rivals.com, was recruited as an athlete by USC.

During his unofficial visit to USC for the Rising Star Camp, Adams lined up at cornerback and displayed the athletic ability and quickness to be a future star in the secondary. Adams, who carries a slim build and long arms, looks like a perfect prospect at cornerback.

Speed and quickness is the name of the game for Joe Adams. As the MVP of the Fort Worth NIKE Camp, Adams showed why he's so highly regarded when he ran a SPARQ timed 4.48 40 on USC's notoriously slow track. Although his technique is not well refined at cornerback yet, Adams athletic ability shined in coverage as a defensive back during one-on-ones at the Rising Star Camp. Adams certainly has all the tools to be a premier defensive back at the college level.
